Our Family Tree
Avocados run in the family — meet Ellen and Hank.
It all started in the 1960s, when Hank and Ellen Brokaw began growing avocado trees in coffee cans in their backyard.
From those humble beginnings, Hank became a pioneer in the avocado industry, known for developing and cultivating avocado varieties specifically for our ranch.
Today, that same spirit of innovation and care continues to guide everything we do.

Bold Risks, Big Flavor
In addition to his success in the Avo industry, Hank’s innovation and experimentation led to the planting of all sorts of subtropical fruit on the varied terrain of the ranch. Our fan favorite Hank's Box is inspired by his experimentation.
